To smartphone users, the Smart UX Center’s user interface is a familiar one. From its intuitive, swipe-to-browse home screen to handy, multi-tasking applications, its similarities to a smartphone are numerous, offering users greater usability and convenience. The Smart UX Center can be as easy as you need — the more you know how to use its features, the easier it gets to use it. Here are three ways to make your printing experience easier and better with the Smart UX Center.
Customize the Home Screen for Faster Navigation
Just like on a smartphone or tablet, the Smart UX Center’s home screen can be customized to your liking. One way to do this is by creating direct shortcuts to frequently used functions such as copy or scan by creating your own launcher screen with one-touch buttons so you don’t need to search for apps or wait for them to load. You can also save your favorite print/scan/copy settings so you don’t have to “tap,” “tap,” “tap” every time you want to “copy,” “mono,” and “duplex.” All of this should take no more than one “tap” with the Smart UX Center.
The Scan/Fax widget for Easy Launcher allows you to access extended scan and fax functions without opening any apps
Apps and widgets that you rarely use can be hidden in the drawer, while the ones you do use often can be placed right under your fingertips on the home screen. Rearranging the home screen icons is as easy as dragging and dropping the apps like you do on your smartphone.
Learn How to Work with Documents PC-free
With the Smart UX Center, you can go through the entire printing, scanning, and copying process without a PC. Using the 10.1” screen and apps that allow you to make changes to a document, you can edit existing documents or create a new one right at the printer. For instance, you can edit MS Office documents and scrap selected areas of multiple hard-copy documents and compile them into a single file.
With Workbook Composer, you can compile selected areas from multiple documents into a single file
Also, you don’t need to go back to your PC and find the Scan folder to save or send scanned documents. On the Smart UX Center, you can scan and send documents to the company server, team e-mail, and your client e-mail in one go. Multiple documents and files can be compressed into a single zip file, too.
Explore App-based Extensibility of MFP Functions
The apps mentioned above are only some of the extended features you can enjoy. Our app center is worth checking out to see the full list of apps and widgets available for download.
And if you’re looking for a more customized solution, you can have your own apps developed for the Smart UX Center. Having an Android-based open platform means that app developers don’t need to learn the protocols unique to MFPs and printers, but instead use Android APIs they are more familiar with. We also offer the Software Developer Kit that includes a developer’s guide, APIs for print functions, sample applications, and an MFP simulator to aid developers with little or no experience with developing printing apps.
