Samsung Printing Solutions has the industry’s top workgroup color printers, according to Channel Partners, which recently released its 2016 CRN Report Card. This marks the latest in a year that has been so far full of recognition for Samsung Printing Solutions, with analysts, consumer groups and media specialists the world over officially recognizing the company for its developments and performance.
This year was the first time Samsung had competed in CRN’s color printer workgroup category, where it vaulted straight to the top spot. With a score an overall score of 69.2, Samsung won in nine of the 17 subcategories. Significantly, it was also the top-ranked brand for the Product Innovation and Partnerships criteria groups.
The workgroup printers category refers to devices that can accept jobs from multiple users on the same network. Because of this, they need to handle heavy output, often using a variety of paper sizes and boasting other functions – and be compatible with a wide range of networks and operating systems. Samsung focuses on providing high levels of performance for its range of multi-function printers (MFPs) and other printing solutions.
CRN has been giving out IT awards for 31 years, with votes cast by solution providers in North America. Vendors are rated according to product innovation, support and partnership, which in turn are divided into 17 subcategories to allow for the in-depth grading of products and services.
Earning Printing Industry Recognition
The award comes after a year full of industry recognition for Samsung Printing Solutions. At the Buyers Laboratory (BLI)’s Summer 2016 Awards, Samsung won the Outstanding Achievement in Innovation prize for it Smart UX Center.
BLI also gave Samsung a Platinum rating in June for its range of printers equipped with the Smart UX Center, and for its Printing App Center. BLI praised the Android-based UX for its ease of use and customizability, as well as its able to increase enterprise productivity.
Furthermore, earlier this year, the BLI gave Samsung and its MFPs an award for Monochrome Printer/MFP Line of the Year. The monochrome series was recognized for its high-performance, affordable costs and eco-friendly features.
Samsung also won BLI awards for Outstanding A4 Printer for Small Workgroups and Outstanding A4 Printer for Large Workgroups.
In addition to the BLI awards, Samsung printers were named as “major players” in the managed print and document services sector by global market intelligence organization IDC. The company’s MultiXpress 7 Series was also recognized by Industry Analysts for passing a durability test, whereby it completed 1 million copies and 1 million scans in the space of three months.
The September issue of German consumer magazine FACTS has also praised the Smart UX Center, awarding it with its Editor’s Pick award for the month, and giving it full marks in the safety and user-friendliness categories. FACTS writers noted that the Smart UX Center “opens many possibilities for users to optimize office workflow in a simple and cost-effective manner.”
“Since its debut in 2014, Samsung’s UX Center has been creating changes in offices around the globe – designing a hassle-free printing environment through printing task digitalization,” said David SW Song, Senior Vice President, Printing Solutions Business at Samsung Electronics. “As an industry leader in office innovation, Samsung will continue to develop high-technology, user-friendly printing goods and services.”
Samsung has a combined commitment to developing leading hardware in the form of innovative new printers, in addition to exciting software developments, such as the unique Smart UX Center and its range of downloadable apps. This allows the company to pioneer the future of print and document management solutions.
The powerful combination also shows how Samsung is focused on creating printing solutions that empower its partners, boosting their office productivity.
