The printer parts market will be worth US$33 billion by 2020 according to a recent report from market analysts Technavio. In addition to a steady rate of growth, this figure represents a large and expanding market.
A range of factors is currently at play in the market. However, one of the most important of these issues – and one that is contributing significantly to the aforementioned growth – is the ever-increasing importance of wireless printing.
Spurred on by Wireless
So why is wireless printing so pivotal when it comes to the printing supplies market? It seems that the principal reason is the fact that wireless printing now leads the way in terms of office organization and workflow development.
“The increasing demand for PCs and laptops in the office has a direct impact on the demand for printers,” write the report’s authors. “The introduction of cloud-based wireless printers allows the sharing of printers on a network, as well as integration with cloud systems, leading to its augmented adoption in the coming years.”

The report concludes that major factors behind the success of OEMs are reliability, durability and quality, which the study asserted would “lead to augmented adoption by the end of 2020.”

Verticals are also driving a significant amount of growth in the printer market. These entail sectors such as the education and corporate spheres.
