For up-and-coming companies full of smart business ideas, growth usually means investing in the future. For many, the best way to expand is to improve your infrastructure, streamline your operations and fine-tune your workflows. And that often entails taking your tech operations to the next level – allowing your company to seek out new opportunities and offer existing customers even better service.
This has certainly been the case for fast-expanding German company Coffee at Work. With some 100 employees involved in sales, tech and in-house services, Witten-based Coffee at Work has been offering enterprise customers onsite coffee-making facilities designed for the workplace since its inception in 2005.
The Coffee at Work business model involves providing risk-, rent- and hidden cost-free coffee for thousands of German office workers. Effective online and direct mail promotion is key, so getting tech solutions right is an absolute must for the company.
Fast-moving ventures need IT that moves at the speed of progress. Coffee at Work recognized this fact and decided to step up its printing, copying and scanning game. Its founder, Martin Sesjak, thus took the bold move of upgrading the company’s printing network.
Sesjak understood that in order to improve the impact of his company’s service and mail campaign offerings, and to improve invoice handling, he needed business devices that could do more than just print. Sesjak required advanced machines that could create smart-looking menus, but also copy, fax and scan. He was on the lookout for a solution that would provide mobile printing for greater flexibility, and authenticated printing for increased security.
Sesjak needed help to realize his plan. And, in e-systems, a valued Samsung Germany partner, he found it.
“After my first meeting with e-systems, I knew I’d found the right partner for the project. Not only was the company local, based in Witten like Coffee at Work, but they also immediately spoke about providing us with Samsung devices, which I took to be a good sign.”
Indeed, Sesjak and his Coffee at Work staff had already had experience using Samsung office devices, including the MultiXpress 6545N, one of Samsung’s multi-function printers (MFPs).
Sesjak explains, “We had already printed over a million pages using the MultiXpress 6545N, and encountered very few errors. Our experience with the printer was very good.”
Coffee at Work and e-systems went ahead with their collaboration, and the coffee experts are now making use of a ProXpress C2680FX device, fitted with a WLAN and NFC Pro kit, as well as a second paper tray. They are also now using a MultiXpress M5370LX with a large-capacity paper tray and mailbox sorter, in addition to a ProXpress M4080FX and a ProXpress M4530ND laser printer.
The company also opted for pull-printing functionality, courtesy of the Business Core 2.0’s Printing Security Core, a solution which ensures documents are only released to authorized users, helping to guard against leaking confidential data. Using NFC chip-embedded ID cards, Coffee at Work can help offer its clients a greater level of security, and protection against privacy breaches.
E-systems took care of installation, licensing, delivery and integrating the devices on the Coffee at Work network, before providing demonstrations for company staff.
It has been a case of so far so good for all parties. It may still be early days, but staff say they are now using the devices with ease, with no complications reported. Samsung’s easy-to-use operating systems and intuitive Smart UX Center interface, it seems, are helping the company adapt quickly.
“It’s only been two months with the new printing setup, but we’ve already noticed that our workflow – in terms of copying, printing and scanning – has improved significantly,” Sesjak says.
And thanks to the Mobile Printing app, Sesjak explains he now has even more work flexibility. He notes, “I can now print directly from my mobile phone – which certainly comes in handy!”
Getting ahead in business is not easy these days, but equipped with expertise and winning business models, companies of all size can now harness the power of innovative technology to gain a competitive edge.
With printers and software that allow your venture to go way beyond just printing, versatility is always at your fingertips. That is why, for startups all over the world, it can often make sense to team up with Samsung Printing – a manufacturer has that from the very outset made its SMB customers’ tech needs a number one priority.
